With Groups for Google Apps you can create group email addresses within your domain. Here are the top ten uses of Google Groups within a business.
1) Create an email distribution list for all employees. Restrict group so only a few employees can send email out to this group.

2) Create distribution lists for departments, locations and teams.

3) Share Google Docs and folders with groups.

4) Share Google Calendars with groups.

5) Use groups to create shared mailboxes for groups of more than ten. (Note: You can use the delegated mailbox function for up to ten users).
6) Invite large groups of attendees to an event using the group email address rather than individually typing in each attendee’s email address.

7) Give a department or team access to edit a Google Site using the group’s email address.
Create a Google Group email address to collect outside communications like requests for support or resume submittals.

9) Create a Google Group of clients and external users, use the group email address to send out newsletters and product updates.
